TONI LYNN STARR grew up singing in her Daddy’s nightclub and working concessions at their family owned Twilight Speedway Stock Car Racetrack since she was five years old. He taught her to play guitar at the age of eight and she was performing with her own band by twelve. She started writing songs after a chance meeting singing for Country Star, Loretta Lynn at her hometown state fair when she was fourteen, taking Loretta’s advise to heart when she told Toni “You sang real good! Keep singing anywhere and everywhere they’ll let you …and write your own songs!” Two years later, Toni recorded her first record of songs she had written and released on Tanglewood Records and bought a tour bus at the age of sixteen. She had photos, T-shirts and merchandise made up and hit the road singing and promoting her record at every radio station and stage in their surrounding area. Her first taste of Nashville was filming a small part in a movie at Hermitage Landing right outside Music City that featured Grand Ole Opry Stars with Hit TV Show Bonanza’s Lorne Greene hosting. And, winning First Place in a Talent Contest that earned her a Nashville Recording Contract, Booking contract and Songwriter contract that ended up being her first lesson about the music business when she was eighteen. After traveling the country singing, opening up shows for various Country Music Stars and guest appearing on the Grand Ole Opry, Ralph Emery Show, The Nashville Network, Nashville Palace, Gilley’s, Finky’s, The Mint Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Charlie McCoy & Hee Haw Band Show and other music venues, fairs, rodeos and television shows, Toni (temporarily) filled in for a secretary at Acuff-Rose Music Publishing Company where she continued to work for the next three years with all the legendary songwriters (Whitey Shafer, Dallas Frazier, Roy Orbison, Eddy Raven, Don Everly, Don Gibson, Skip Ewing, etc.) typing song lyrics, contracts, licenses and song packages for the A&R staff to pitch to major and upcoming Recording Artists. And, was honored to Host the Acuff-Rose Golf Tournament & Show with Country Music DJ Hall of Fame, Bob Jennings. Where, she soon realized how much she loved the recording studio, songwriting, publishing, producing, marketing and the business of music even more than performing. Toni continued to perform, also working with the infamous Betty Clark’s Talent and Model Land (Modeling/TV/Commercials/Movies) in Nashville, TN …and, persistently perfecting her passion to write songs over the years. Even having songs recorded by other artists, including Internationally by Country Music Recording Artist in Japan …and a song snatched up and recorded by a major artist that won CMA Song of the Year and was nominated for a Grammy. In 2004, Toni met with NASCAR, Inc. and founded the FanAddict Female Race Fan Project which included spearheading, recording and producing a complete Album CD of party songs, merchandise, apparel and even her own signature Best Ever Perfume featuring Toni as the Spokesmodel, all geared especially toward the female race fans. She wrote and recorded the song “Little Go Daddy Girl” and produced a music video in tribute to famed female race car driver, Danica Patrick and rewrote the 1985 Song of the Year, Mel McDaniel Hit “Baby’s Got Her Blue Jeans On” changing it to “Junior’s Got His Blue Jeans On” with original songwriter (Bob McDill) and the publisher’s permission and blessings in reference to Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s Race Fans and Race Sponsor Wrangler Jeans, with Mel McDaniel guest appearing on the recording with Toni. Toni has been featured on NBC, ESPN, FOX, NASCAR Sports Talk Radio, etc. including her writing, producing and recording the official music & promos for Speedweekly and Race to Go Radio …and her own “Live Phone-in” radio interviews from racetracks and music venues, including Mickey Gilley’s in Branson. For the next few years, she and her husband had a blast traveling and attending NASCAR races promoting her FanAddict Female Race Fan Project. Soon after, Toni was offered a book deal so she “retired” to the beaches of Florida with their little Havanese puppy “Trixy” … to write her book and more songs. And today, Toni’s back in Nashville recording the songs she wrote in the Recording Studio with Legendary Top Producers and Studio Musicians… and busier than ever with appearances, her “POP UP PARTY!” Events and affiliation with various sponsors, including just being named the “DARLIN’ of DAVID YURMAN Jewelry and her favorite Charities and Organizations. You can find all of Toni Lynn Starr’s music on your favorite Streaming platform.
